Coco Maya is in Little Italy, north of the San Diego Convention Center within downtown San Diego. It is not the closest restaurant to the convention hall, and this page does not pretend otherwise. It is a strong option when attendees, exhibitors, clients, or teams have enough time to leave the immediate convention blocks for a more distinct Little Italy meal.
That can mean a client lunch, post-session happy hour, team dinner, or hosted corporate gathering. Coco Maya gives visiting groups access to indoor dining, an elevated rooftop patio, cocktails, dinner, weekday happy hour, and an established private-event program without leaving downtown San Diego.
Coco Maya works best when the meal has enough time to leave the immediate convention blocks and the setting matters as much as convenience.
When a client conversation deserves more than a quick meal near the show floor, Coco Maya provides a Little Italy setting for a seated lunch. The restaurant opens before noon every day, including 9 AM Friday through Sunday, which gives visiting teams daytime flexibility.
Weekday happy hour runs Monday through Friday from 4–6 PM. It works for coworkers, partners, prospects, and smaller groups that want cocktails and bites after sessions without turning the gathering into a formal private event.
Dinner begins nightly at 5 PM. Smaller teams can reserve through the normal restaurant flow, while larger dinner groups can use group dining when coordinated seating and timing matter.
For customer events, presentations, receptions, or larger hosted groups, Coco Maya's corporate-event program adds dedicated-space options, basic AV support, custom food and beverage planning, and centralized billing.

If the schedule leaves less than an hour between sessions, staying near the Convention Center is usually the better operational choice. Coco Maya becomes more relevant when the meal itself has a business or social purpose: a client conversation, executive dinner, team gathering, or hosted event where the setting matters.
Allow time for sessions running late, exiting the Convention Center, rideshare pickup, downtown traffic, and guests arriving from different hotels. For client-facing meals, the host should plan to arrive first rather than setting the reservation against the exact end of a session.
